Harvard Business School - Spangler Forum
Boston, Massachusetts, USA
On the Harvard Business School Campus (HBS) in the Basement of Spangler Hall is an existing underutilized Auditorium. This space is being renovated to become the new Spangler Forum. The design and construction work will transform the space into a new state-of-the-art HBS Case Study Classroom for (196) participants.
The renovation includes the creation of tiers for the desks and seating, a dramatic ceiling design with direct and indirect lighting to illuminate the audience for video capture. The presentation wall contains three presentation zones with video screen displays, motorized writing surfaces, and integrated audiovisual controls. The rear of the new classroom will include hybrid technology displays and cameras for remote participants to join the class. This larger venue offers the School greater flexibility in group sizes for both classes and special events.
Sustainability goals focus on the use of healthy materials, newly developed healthy and efficient lighting, and energy efficiency. Other goals to be met by the project relate to indoor air quality, and social equity within the design and construction teams.
